There is a ton of amazing stuff to see when visiting Hawaii. And there are organized tours available to guide visitors experience it. When looking at which island to visit for Hawaii tours oahu is the best island of them all. Oahu tours are available to see practically everything on the island. For us, the most important thing to see was the Pearl Harbor Tour.
Our Pearl Harbor tour included both USS Missouri tours and Uss arizona tours. It was amazing and emotional. No matter how prepared someone is to visit Pearl Harbor, how much they read about it in books and movies, a person can not help but have an emotional response during a Pearl Harbor tour. It is such an interesting thing to be in a beautiful space such as that but to know you are literally standing above a watery grave. The Pearl Harbor tour was very personal. They talked about some of the individual victims and survival stories. The most memorable part of our Pearl Harbor tour was the black tears the sunken ship cry. There is a slow trickle of oil from below that continually rises up and they say the drops are the black tears of the fallen. The day of our Pearl Harbor tour was the most memorable one of that trip.
There were some other wonderful experiences of course. We also really enjoyed the Dole plantation tour. We loved eating pineapple at the same place they were grown. We walked around the extensive grounds enjoying the Hawaiian breeze. We had a wonderful experience navigating our way through the pineapple garden maze. It was a bit more challenging than I thought! Our favorite part of that day however was probably eating the Dole whip. Oh. My. Goodness. It was like frozen yogurt. But the yummiest frozen yogurt I have ever had. It would be worth flying back to Hawaii for that alone. The Dole plantation tour might not been as emotional as out Pearl Harbor tour, but it was awesome just the same.
